PG 2.0 Magnetically Driven Pumps
OPERATING PRINCIPLE: Magnetically driven pumps are seal-less. The driving torque is transmitted through a permanent magnetic coupling to an internal magnet, which in turn drives the impeller. This energy-efficient design is suitable for pumping a wide range of liquids.
LEAK-FREE: Magnetically driven pumps are (like most seal-less pumps) more expensive to purchase than comparable centrifugal pumps. However, they offer lower operating costs due to the elimination of mechanical seal replacement, cleaning, waste, and production downtime. They are particularly suitable for pumping hazardous or expensive chemicals because they have no mechanical shaft seal and provide completely leak-free operation.
CONSTRUCTION: Years of development have resulted in this advanced design. The liquid end is completely isolated by a fully enclosed plastic containment shell, while the shaft, bearings and thrust ring are manufactured from the highest-grade corrosion-resistant materials. Combined with the leak-free, seal-less construction, this ensures the safe and reliable transfer of strong acids and alkalis. Polypropylene (PP) is suitable for most applications. For concentrated chemicals and/or higher operating temperatures, all wetted components are available in PVDF.
The plastic components are fiber-reinforced, making the pump stronger despite using less material, while maintaining its physical properties under increased temperatures and/or pressures. This also helps reduce the risk of leakage.
IMPELLER: AM pumps are equipped with a highly efficient closed impeller (except for the smallest model, which features an open impeller). The impeller is mounted on the shaft independently of the direction of rotation. These pumps are ideal for transfer and circulation applications involving clean chemicals and other corrosive media.
SOLIDS: Thanks to the close tolerances between the pump casing and the impeller, the pump achieves a relatively high efficiency. However, this also makes it unsuitable for pumping liquids containing solids. If the liquid contains solid particles, a suction strainer must be installed in the suction line to protect the pump. To reduce repair costs, these pumps are fitted with replaceable wear plates in the pump casing.
MOTORS: All motors comply with NEN-EN-IEC 10072-1, DIN 42673 and NEN 3321 standards. They are available as 2-pole or 4-pole versions for 230/400 V or 400/690 V, 50 or 60 Hz, with IP55 protection and insulation class F. Other protection classes against dust or humidity are available on request.
ATEX: All magnetically driven pumps can be supplied with Zone II, ATEX II 2G Ex II T3 certification.
