The only metal parts are the pump shaft, that is outside the liquid zone, and the electric motor.Thanks to this construction, the corrosion is very limited!However, pump failure may cause severe leakage that can reach the unprotected shaft stub and bearing shield. In order to further increase the durability of the complete unit, a plastic sleeve with integrated splash ring had been designed and may be optionally added to the shaft stub. This will effectively protect the motor bearing drive end against liquid entry!
